Using Guidestar to Discover Nonprofit Hospital Salaries

A little known way to identify nonprofit salaries using publicly available information.

If you'd like to explore the salary levels of physician executives, you can search for survey data on line or purchase data from one of several services (at great expense).

One method I've used when doing my research on nonprofit hospitals, is to use public Guidestar.org data derived from 990 forms, to identify compensation levels for hospital executives, including physician executives.

In this mini-course, I walk through the process I use to select comparable organizations to those looking to hire physician executives, and find and display the pertinent information.
